Caliber Comics Cards
Does anyone else remember the promo cards issued by Caliber back in the 1990s, to advertise their comics ? I've always thought that they were pretty cool. They were not inserted in comics, to my knowledge, but were instead sent to comic stores.

These are the 47 different ones that I have, in alphabetical order. Are there others ?

Aka Goldfish
Apparition
Autumn
Baker Street (2 different)
Big Bang Comics
Cavewoman
Dead Killer
Deadworld King Zombie
Deadworld Necropolis
Dominique
Door Man
Exit

David R has asked me to post the 47 images of Caliber Cards. In addition I have taken his listing and added the 2008 PCE page number where you can find more detail. I have also included who PCE list as the issuer. This list follows the images.

Note that most of the images also show the card title and those that don't David R has informed me what the card is and hopefully I have got it right, my apologies if I haven't as I am not familiar with all these cards.

Wow, terrific reference!

I picked up a few of these over the years (and some of the comics they advertise), but I had no idea there were so many of them issued.

Nice to see them all together, thanks!

Yes, it's a great checklist. I hadn't seen a few of them before looking at those scans. They are fun to collect because they tend to be cheap when you find them (found some of mine in dollar boxes). However, some of them pop up only occasionally so completing the known set is a challenge.

Thanks, John. Thanks, David.

John, thank you for posting these for me !

It was pointed out to me that the Exit and The Jam cards don't actually say Caliber on the backs, but I did some research and Caliber did in fact publish "The Jam" comic in late 1990 for awhile. I can't recall who told me that he considered both to be Caliber cards, perhaps Todd Jordan of PCE himself ?

Looks like the Exit comic was also published by Caliber in 1995, after being released by Taxi Comics in 1992.

Hi David,

Todd did list it separately but then he listed all the Calibers separately. That's what makes your list a nice new reference. Technically, Exit was not a Caliber Comic when the card was released in 1993 but Todd might have included it had he provided a checklist especially since it did become one and it looks like a Caliber Comics card. Who knows, the publishing rights might have been in the works at the time so Caliber might have made the card after all but couldn't announce it as a done deal yet.

I sent an email to Caliber Comics asking how many cards exist. The fellow didn't answer the question, but I showed him the checklist above, and he claims that there was a card for the comic "The Scythe."

Anyone see that one ???
