Anyone collecting these? They are similar to the Star Wars Saber Spoons. There are 3 different colors of light up spoons: red, yellow, and green.



I have an extra sealed green spoon to trade for a sealed red or yellow spoon if anyone has an extra.

I found these the other day and bought some cereal with one. I got a gren spoon with snake design. Today my daughter got a red one.

Don't know if I need to collect all three, but a few years ago I got a light up drinking mug from Burger King with LOTR Gandalf on it. Now I need some kind of light up plate or dish and I am all set to eat a fine meal in the dark.

Does anyone know if this is a US thing only?

Joey, I'm guessing this is a US only promotion, but the best thing to do is check out the cereal aisle in your local store.
These are available in several Kellogs cereals, Apple Jacks, Mini-Wheats, Cocoa Crisp, and Corn Pops. I also noticed a big display of these at K Mart.

I picked up two boxes last week at Wal Mart and received two different spoons from the boxes The only one I need now is the snake spoon.

I bought a box of Mini-Wheats and got a Red spoon so now I am only in need of a Yellow. I have an extra Green to trade for a Yellow.



Has anyone else had a correlation between the color of spoon pictured on the box and the spoon inside the box? Both of my Fruit Loops (Green spoon pictured on the front of the box) had Green spoons inside and my box of Mini-Wheats (Red spoon pictured on front) had a Red spoon inside. Just wondering if the spoon color on the box is always what you get inside or if it was coincidence?

Just a coincidence Dewman. I got a Green spoon from Mini Wheats, and the Corn Pops (does anyone remember when they were called Sugar Pops?)has a red spoon on the box, and we got a green spoon from it.

I remember Super Sugar Crisp that has since been changed to Super Golden Crisp and Sugar Smacks that I think are called Honey Smacks now, or maybe just Smacks. When was it that the companies decided it was bad to have "Sugar" in a cereal's name? Some time in the 80's?

I have the red one. It's really fun but not NEARLY as cool as the saber spoons.

Got another red one today, my daughter really likes these so she's collecting them, and I'm just getting a couple for myself.

Yes Dewman, back in the 70's someone realized sugar was bad for kids, so they changed the names of all these cereals, Sugar Pops, Sugar Frosted Flakes, etc. I'm really dating myself, but when I used to eat Sugar Pops, Wild Bill Hickock (Guy Madison) and Jingles (Andy Devine) used to be on the boxes.

I just bought a box of Frosted Mini Wheats and one more Fruit Loops box, so I will post what I get from then :thumbup

Is there a way to tell the color of the spoon without opening it? Or what colors belong to which symbol?

The color of the lettering on the spoon handle is the color the spoon lights up as. Also I believe they follow this pattern:

Snake = Green
Bug = Red
Skull = Yellow

All of mine follow this pattern but I suppose there could be a possibility of mixing and matching of light up colors and symbol on the spoon.

We also have spoons in Belgiums.
It's a different kind then the ones you have but if you like them I can trade them.

I'd love to see a picture.

My other two boxes had bug/red spoons in both boxes

So, I still need the snake/green spoon.
